Miguel A. Telleria, MD MBA
Dr. Miguel A. Telleria is a first generation Cuban-American, who was born and raised in South Florida. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami in 2004, and graduated from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2008. Dr. Telleria completed his residency with the Department of Anesthesiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and continued his post-graduate training with a fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in interventional pain medicine. He served as Chief Fellow and was granted the “Outstanding Fellow in Pain Medicine Award.” Dr. Telleria remains closely affiliated with his training program and holds a voluntary associate professor distinction with the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. In addition, he also continues to serve our country’s veterans with his appointment under the Pain Management Clinic at the Miami Veterans Affairs Hospital. During his education and training, Dr. Telleria served as a student delegate for the American Society of Anesthesiology and was selected as clinical instructor at the University of Miami/JMH Patient Safety Center.
Dr. Telleria is devoted to various local, state, and international organizations. He has worked with the University of Miami’s Department of Community Service and has served on missions with Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. In the past, he has helped underserved communities by traveling across the United States, the Caribbean, and Central America and provided basic medical education, screenings, and treatments to those in need.
Dr. Telleria is a published author in The Journal of Pain on intrathecal drug delivery systems. He has presented at numerous national conferences, including American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and has received the “ASA Best Abstract Award.” He is affiliated with the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Pain Society, North American Neuromodulation Society, and Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
In 2011, Dr. Telleria earned his Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He currently resides in Miami, is an avid Miami Heat fan, and enjoys the outdoors.
