Cervical (neck) pain with and without radiation into the upper extremities is typically due to cervical disk herniation and compression of a nerve. If a patient has failed physical therapy and conservative treatments, we can offer cervical transforaminal epidural injections. This outpatient, minimally invasive procedure involves injecting a small amount of anti-inflammatory into the epidural space in an effort to reduce inflammation and irritation.

Axial neck pain is typically due to cervical facet joint disease, and if a patient fails to improve with physical therapy and conservative measures, we can treat this condition with a safe, painless outpatient procedure in which we inject a small amount of anesthetic and anti-inflammatory into the involved joints. If this procedure is successful in producing temporary pain relief, we can then perform a radio frequency ablation in which we use heat to rennervate the involved joints and produce pain relief for an extended period of time.

 Contact Us

Cervical Epidural
